AeroTabs: A companion menu bar app for AeroSpace + workspace-scoped Alt-Tab script

Hey everyone! I built AeroTabs, a companion app for AeroSpace that shows your current workspace windows as clickable tabs in the macOS menu bar.

What it does

• Shows each window on the focused workspace as a tab with its app icon
• Click a tab to focus that window
• Active window gets a highlighted pill background
• Three display modes: Icon + Name, Icon + Name (active only), Icon Only
• Right-click for settings
• Event-driven updates via AeroSpace hooks — no polling

Install

brew tap alexlazarian/aerotabs
brew install --cask aerotabs

Then add to your ~/.aerospace.toml:

on-focus-changed = ['exec-and-forget /usr/bin/open -g -a AeroTabs --args --refresh']
exec-on-workspace-change = ['/usr/bin/open', '-g', '-a', 'AeroTabs', '--args', '--refresh']

Bonus tip: if you want Alt+Tab to cycle only through windows on your current workspace (instead of macOS Cmd+Tab which jumps across workspaces), I also put together a small script for that.
