I feel like with the upcoming changes to Bun.serve for 1.2.3 it's now the best opportunity for a rename. I hope they have considered it.

I think the name "fetch" in this context originates from the service worker's fetch event. This model was then popularized by Cloudflare Workers especially with their "module worker" syntax export default { fetch() }. In addition to Cloudflare workers, both Bun and Deno adopt this pattern with their server implementation, so fetch feels pretty idiomatic to me here.
