Error during Setting up the workspace - "colcon build --symlink-install"

During the "colcon build --symlink-install" step of the prerequisites, the launch_pal package failed to be installed with the following error message:

I am attempting to install this using Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS, using Windows Subsystem for Linux.

Hi @Aidan-Killeen , I am using the same Ubuntu version and i am able to execute this command without any error .
Here , easy_install command is deprecated , so you can try to upgrade you pip and setuptools version by using the command :
python3 -m pip install --upgrade pip setuptools.
