Example Plane Flight Testing #157

Wow, nice looking plane! Looks sturdy enough to survive some testing :-) What material did you use for the wings? Some sort of foam board? Yes, flight hours would be great, to iron out the bugs. The current madflight v2.4.2 has zero hours, and potentially very major bugs. But it uses the new PID controller which works very well with my quads. Please do extensive dry runs first to make sure you can fall back to manual mode. Many thanks for the order, it will be on its way on Monday. |

Foamboard and packing tape. The keyword is "Armin wing". The main design consideration was robustness, hence the pusher configuration. I don't want to spend 10 props in one session. At the moment I am having issues with the IMU. My MPU-6050 breakout boards are either fake or the FC says that the IMU interrupt pin is not firing. I am hoping that the FC3v2 will be more reliable. |
Uh oh!

In the "madflight Wish List" discussion I noticed the point:
"Example Plane: do more flight testing, improve controller"
As I am finalising a plane, I might be able to help with this. Is there any specific function that needs testing or is it just about accruing flight hours and finding bugs?
I just ordered a FC3v2 from Tindie but I have a mostly working system based on a Pico 2.
Best regards,
Raul
