ssh to servers authenticating with SmallStep | possible feature request

I have tried to use the ssh package to connect to the USDA SCINet HPC clusters without luck. These servers require authentication via re-direct to a webpage that uses smart card log-in for user authentication. This is all accomplished through SmallStep and installation of SmallStepCLI on the local machine (see SmallStep info here if you aren't familiar and instructions on the SCINet side here).

I'm wondering if there is a way to enable authentication within your package via this approach or some other workaround? If not currently possible, is it something that could be added?

I'm sorry I don't know how that would work. If I understand the help page correctly, your smartcard words via ssh-agent, which is something that the ssh packages should pick up on by default. Does it work when you use ssh on the command line on the same machine? Which operating systems did you try?
