Feature Request: UPnP/DLNA Streaming Support

Hi Castafiore team,

First of all, thank you for your work on this app! I’m a long-time user of self-hosted audio solutions (Plex/Plexamp, Navidrome, MoOde, etc.) and I love the direction Castafiore is taking.

Feature Request & Progress:
I’d like to propose (and contribute to) adding UPnP/DLNA streaming support to Castafiore, allowing users to stream their music to any compatible renderer (speakers, AV receivers, Raspberry Pi setups, etc.).

Current Status:

• I’ve already forked the project and started experimenting with UPnP/DLNA integration.
• So far, I can scan and discover UPnP/DLNA devices from the app interface and connect to the server, but I haven’t yet managed to redirect the audio stream to the UPnP/DLNA renderer.
• My goal is to enable a workflow similar to Plexamp’s "Plex Connect," where a headless client (e.g., a Raspberry Pi) can receive the stream from the mobile app.

Questions:

• Is UPnP/DLNA streaming already on your roadmap? If so, I’d love to align my work with your plans.
• Are there specific architectural guidelines or constraints I should follow for this feature?
• Would you be open to a PR once I have a working prototype?

I didn’t know these protocols at all, they seem really interesting! It’s a great idea.

1. No, it was not on my roadmap.
2. I would say it should keep the interface simple, require as few dependencies as possible, and stay consistent with the rest of the app.
3. Yes, I am open to a PR. I would be curious to see how you have integrated it into the app so far.

I have some questions:

• Do you happen to know any app that does something similar to what you are trying to do? I would like to see how it looks and works.
• In what cases are these protocols generally used? Is this a common method?

Those protocols are used to send a music/video stream to a server app which can stream the source directly without require the phone to be available. It allows you to have the same usage as "Spotify connect" or "Chromecast".

In my case, I have a hifi setup connected to a raspberry pi with a upnp server on it.
I used Symfonium to do that but i prefer the simplicity and open source spirit of Castafiore :)
Btw there is not mush mobile alternative to connect to a subsonic library and stream to a devices (Chromecast or UPNP).

Yeah, it looks like a cool feature!

I just thought of another constraint, do not create an android folder with the source. If you need to edit some native files, do it with Expo plugin.
