Hi, I'm Joren.

I'm an active NumPy maintainer, and the author and lead maintainer of scipy-stubs (SciPy's official type stubs), and optype. If your codebase is typed and touches NumPy or SciPy, you're relying on my work, perhaps without even realizing it.

Static typing in scientific Python is unglamorous, high-volume maintenance: tracking every upstream release, chasing type checker divergences between mypy, pyright, pyrefly, and ty, and reviewing the issue tracker. Most of it is done by one person.

Sponsorship pays for the parts nobody funds: releases that keep pace with upstream, protocol coverage in optype, and turnaround on your bug reports.
