Karing has simple auto profile chooser based on latency, checking periodically. They also have more robust clash/mihomo/singbox api, so i can use it to choose specific profiles via api with scripting.
Throne is also really cool because of dedicated DNS server (which helps with DNS redirect rules on OPNsense/pfSense, very nice to have because DNS requests within socks5 transport is not always work because of specific apps or devices using own DNS servers), proper speed tests for quick evaulation for top 10 low-latency servers (this is actually my using scenario, choosing top 10 or 15 lowest latency servers and additionally test these for speed and pick one of the top 3 candidates). the simplicity of UI and also lots and lots of useful settings, and a cherry on top - really good fine grained routes rules system. So far this is my top 1 vpn client on windows and linux devices :)
However, the lack of any profile choosing system based on latency, speed, or some policy rules, is frustrating. Even the clash api is not rich enough, i thought i can write a simple script with separate xray/sing-box binary to quickly evaluate the best profile from my subscription list, but it also not the case here unfortunately. There is just no available profiles list in the API.
If you have any plans to implement more api calls for profile listing and choosing or some degree of automation to pick best profile candidates, please let me know! 🙏
