Can't see anything in 'content'

I'm putting this in Discussions because it's got to be something I'm doing wrong or some quirk of my setup.

Running Android 13 with NetGuard VPN (but it's set to allow YAACC to bypass the rules)

Under 'Settings':

• local server state is checked (and it says 'local server is started')
• autostart server on boot is checked
• media proxy service is unchecked
• media receiver service is unchecked
• media provider service is checked (and it says content directory is enabled)
• media provider source is unchecked (and it says 'local server using mediastore')
• service music is enabled

I'm trying to get play some local files on a Sonos Play:3. It works with an proprietary app from the Play Store that I'd like to get away from. I see the Play:3 under SERVER and RECEIVER

Under the CONTENT tab, there's nothing listed. Under the white line at the bottom it says 'All' and 'this device'

In the SERVER tab I see a YAACC MediaServer with a refresh button. That refreshes but it doesn't resolve the issue. Not sure if that's what I want anyway.

Is it looking in a specific directory or something (my files are on internal storage but in a subdir under my name)

Logs is empty (set to 'Error')

Hi,
if you are using VPN please make sure to add the VPN device to the blacklist in the settings.
This list helps Yaacc to find the right IP used for the media services.
You can see which device is used by opening the Yaacc Server notification. Maybe currently Yaacc is using the IP from the VPN.

You'll find further information in this issue #152

Thanks for responding.

My wlan0 IP is 192.168.1.218 and I also have tun0 at 10.1.10.1 which I assume is the VPN. I added tun0 to the blacklist and now the notification looks right (it was 10.1.10.1 before I restarted, now it says wlan0@192.168.1.218) but I still don't see any content.

I changed log level to info and I see one entry which repeats when I refresh 'media store' from the server tab

The refresh seems to complete successfully since I get a start and finished message.

TBH, I'm not entire sure what I need to have checked in the settings in order to send local music files to Sonos. Right now I have everything but 'media provider source' checked under 'local server configuration.' When I check 'media provider source', the text underneath changes from 'local server using mediatore' to 'local server using test content' and I assume I want the former.

Forgot to say that I'm using the APK from the releases section, version 4.3.1

Great using the right device is half the way :-)
On your Screenshots, I could see, that your Sonos devices appear as servers for providing content. They should also appear in the receiver tab.
Nevertheless the content of your phone should appear in the content tab after selecting the Yaacc server on the server tab.
If there does not appear any content, maybe you have to allow additional permissions for Yaacc to access the local storage.

For testing the content providing you can select the setting 'media provider source'. Doing so Yaacc will provide test content from the internet. If this works there is only a problem in accessing the content on your device.

I think we can chalk this up to a PEBKAC issue. I re-read the docs and I realised that under 'Server' "Select one and the app will automatically switch to the content tab. It allows to browse the content provided by the selected server" meant I had to actually select one rather than just hit the content tab. Once I did that, I saw some of my files (basically my ringtones, but I think I just need to move the rest of the media to a standard location)
And I do see the Sonos' in the receiver tab too so I think I'm good.

I toggled the media store thing and got those demo files too. Thanks so much for responding putting me right on the IP stuff.
