Individual slice time stretch setting does not work

Description

I've tried the standalone app on MacOS 15.7.4 (M2-Macbook Pro).

• Individual slice time stretch adjustment are not applied.
• Filters section does not have any effect in SLICE or in GLOBAL tabs on the loaded sound.
• Amp section does not have any effect in SLICE or in GLOBAL tabs on the loaded sound.
• Playback section does not have any effect in SLICE or in GLOBAL tabs on the loaded sound.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Load a sample
2. Set slices
3. Choose a slice
4. Enable GLOBAL - STRETCH - ON
5. Enable SLICE - STRETCH - ON
6. Set bpm to 1 on GLOBAL

It only changes the global BPM with the above settings. When I disable STRETCH (GLOBAL STRETCH is enabled) for a SLICE, it does not play in its original bpm for the selected SLICE.

Expected Behavior

Enable/disable STRETCH for individual slices.
Enable/disable Filters for individual slices.
Enable/disable Amp for individual slices.
Enable/disable Playback for individual slices.

I'm not sure I quite understand what is happening here. I suspect you may be misunderstanding how parameter inheritance works at the global and slice level. I'll do my best to explain.
Global parameters effect all slices in the plugin unless you override them at the slice level. So, if you set the bpm in the global tab, all the slices will inherit that bpm. if you turn on stretch in the global tab, all slices will stretch to the bpm you set. if you want one of the slices to not be stretched, you would select the slice, go to the slice tab, and then disable stretch for that slice. The STRETCH text should change color indicating that it is overriding what you have set in the global tab. In this example, the bpm will technically still be tied to the global bpm because you didn't override it on the slice level, but because you did override the stretch function, the bpm will have no effect on that particular slice.

Thanks for the clarification. I actually watched the video tutorial and noticed that you set the BPM in Reaper. I am using the standalone version of the app without a DAW.

I can confirm that this doesn't work in the standalone version. I've attached a screenshot. The first slice on the left is supposed to play at its own BPM, but it doesn't. Also Filter section doesn't have any effect on the selected slice. Am I missing something?

Ok, I have just added a bpm setting for the standalone in the source. I should have done that a while ago. Thanks for pointing it out. 852b038

As far as the filter issue, I am having trouble recreating the problem. In my tests the filter is working fine. Granted, I have only tested on windows and linux. I will try to get access to a mac to test, but that should not have an effect on the functionality of the filter. are you using an arm based or intel based mac?

I'm on arm-based Macbook Pro (M2 chip).
FILTER, AMP are not applied on SLICE or GLOBAL mode, btw.

For my setup, only time stretch and pitch shift work in GLOBAL mode.

I just tested on an m1 MacBook air and didn't have any issue. Other than not having transport bpm, which has will be included in the next update, everything is working as expected. Filter and amp work on both the sample and global levels

Ok. I've tried the app using Reaper as VST similar to your video tutorial and it works.
But standalone version does not work in the same way.

I record some midi notes on a Reaper track
Then add the INTERSECT as VST to this track.
When I hit play after adjusting the midi notes on the track, it works.

hmm, im at a loss what is causing this. how are you triggering the slices? I assume you are using a midi controller?

No, I use shift click to trigger slices.
I guess that's the issue. As I said, when I test the VST version with Reaper, it works as expected.
I think the app and slice-related functions are only triggered via MIDI signals.

Ah, I understand now. The shift click preview is working as designed to preview the sample in its raw form. I can see the argument for why it should be affected by the global parameters though, so I will consider adding a toggle in the settings to choose if the raw sample is previewed or if the preview is processed by the global signal chain.
