OnePlus may start taking away fastboot from their devices

I have a OnePlus 10T with the latest update of OxygenOS 15 (biggest mistake I have made, I will get back to that)

So, I have recently fixed this device (had a broken OLED) and I wanted to unlock the bootloader and install LineageOS on it, or maybe try to get postmarketOS working on it. However I have noticed that the usual combination to enter fastboot mode (vol up and power) did not get me to fastboot. The volume down and power combination does take me to recovery mode, however.

The device was already running OxygenOS 15 when I got it. When I tried to boot to fastboot by sending the command "adb reboot bootloader", the phone powered off, showed the OnePlus logo accompanied by the text "Fastboot mode" under it for a split second, after which it reboots back into Android.
The same thing happened with another Oppo when I have tried to enter fastboot mode on it via the same method.

After some online digging, I have found out that this has been an issue since OxygenOS 14.

And about the part where I mentioned the latest OOS 15 update. I decided I should try to downgrade my phone to the factory firmware via QFIL, however, with the latest update, it had enabled a fuse bit in the Snapdragon SoC requiring EDL authorization. Therefore, I cannot downgrade the device via USB.

I have also tried using the "Local Update" method to downgrade via an OTA package, however I was unsuccessful with the device giving me an "Instalation failed" error.

I just wanted to post this to warn other people to watch out for newer OnePlus devices. It is unfortunate to see OnePlus go to this direction.
If anyone knows of a method to re-enable Fastboot or downgrade the firmware for my device, please let me know.

If it is a bug, why was it not fixed? This has been an issue since OOS 14 and it was still not fixed for my device running OxygenOS 15.
I was starting to suspect this is not a bug.

someone on OOS16 reported it was fixed, and oneplus is not the only manufacturer to have this issue (e.g. with the Pixel 3 series)

I am on OOS 15 and apparently it is the last supported version by the device. So I guess it will not be patched

I have tried contacting oneplus. From what I understood, there is no chance of an official boot loader unlock. Which is unfortunate
