My PhD thesis seeks genes that are responsible for speedy stomatal movments in flucturating light to optimize agricultural production. The strategy is to exploit the natural varations in the speed of stomatal movments among species and genotypes, and find the evolutionary conserved responses in guard cell then introduce them into crops. Hence the name EvoGuard.
