They're actually different. dahdi-source is the header files for building code against dahdi. But since it appears that in Trixie you can get dahdi-source installed in various ways through dependencies and such as identified by the test hosts I was working through with N8RAW, it seemed most user friendly to force an upgrade to the "right" version regardless of whatever mix of packages your system has. I verified with him that -10 fixes the issues he was having. |
I understand wanting to ensure that the packages are kept in sync. But, I'm not wild about having to install the dahdi-source package when it's not needed/used. |

Yeah, I don't really love it either. But it is a tiny package and there's no other way to remove or upgrade it if it gets out of sync otherwise. I think the sanity of matching packages justifies the very marginal waste of the unnecessary package. |
