At first, the previous version didn't have a regular "plugin" flexibility. It was somehow the standalone file, with no functionality of plugins, with a need of manual intervention to copy&paste ..
Now, it's as a default plugin, with several different flexible checks to allow using the cache.
Also, I think there was missing an useful constant to recognize system-wide that the file is being used.
