Fix a bug where using "|| true" in a command whenever "set -e" is set causes "set -e" to be unexpectedly unset for the rest of the script. Removed the "|| true" from the commands and made sure these functions are called without "set -e" to allow them to fail.
Minimal OpenSSL version is set to 3.0.0, so this code is redundant
