  • Remove numpy dep: In light of Support for Python 3.13 #1428, I see no direct reference to numpy, so proposing to remove it as a direct dep.
  • Run tests with Python 3.13
  • Drop support for Python 3.9 (Python 3.13 requires scipy 1.14.1 which requires Python >3.10)
  • Replace unmaintained asyncpg sqlalchemy backend
  • Resolve Poetry installation failures
  • Manual testing
  • Run E2E tests with 3.13 at least once
  • Update README
  • Update docs
  • Run tests in Python 3.13 open-telemetry/opentelemetry-python#4067
