Requirements before using fix

IMPORTANT READ THE READ ME FILE INCLUDED WITH THE DOWNLOAD BEFORE USING THE FIX.

Information on the fix

These launchers simply patch the game using the internal logic to put a 60fps or 120fps cap on in order to solve issues inside of the game relating to fps being too high (such as the frozen Imp glitch), as there is not proper way to limit it.

Including Custom Controller support so you can play the game on Xinput (must be an xinput device).

Instructions

Go to and download the latest version of the HP3-FPS-Cap-Game-Launchers.zip. Then choose either the HP3-120FPSLauncher.exe or HP3-60FPSLauncher.exe and extract the one you wish to use into your games system folder next to the hppoa.exe file and you are good to go!

Use the launcher that’s suitable for your desired FPS by clicking either the HP3-120FPSLauncher.exe or HP3-60FPSLauncher.exe to run the game at the chosen FPS limit. If its not working try run it as administrator.

You can now use either the HP3-120FPSLauncher.exe or HP3-60FPSLauncher.exe files to run the game now instead of the normal hppoa.exe file. If you wish you can make a shortcut for the HP3-120FPSLauncher.exe or HP3-60FPSLauncher.exe on your desktop.

Controller Support using (Chip Xinput)

Go to the releases page and download the Latest version of the HP3-Custom-Controller.zip

unzip the file and put d3d8.dll and d3d8.ini into the games install location inside of (usually) C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Games\Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban(TM)\system hppoa.exe

Walking/ Running with the controller left stick is analogue: you will be able to push the stick a small amount and walk, you will be able to push the stick fully and run.

you can fully customize the layout inside of d3d8.ini all explained inside the configuration file.

If you experience double input

In this specific game navigate to C:\Users\**YOU**\Documents\Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban hppoa.ini open it and then if you see occurrence of UseJoystick=True change it to UseJoystick=False.
