Wheel debris damage immunity

It kinda sucks when you have an armored wheel tons of hp shread to pieces when driving a group of corpses. Also wheels like those drum rollers and wooden wheels or very small wheels getting damaged by rocks doesnt sound right.

Solution you would like.

A flag that prevents debris damage to certain wheels. This would also allow special wheels and even excavator tracks to be added to the game for future updates

"Tough" wheels don't need an immunity flag, they need some kind of quantified "better toughness".
Drum rollers are an outlier that's on thin ice already.
Wooden wheels would not be "invulnerable", they're significantly more fragile than modern steel/rubber tires.
Not sure what you mean by "small wheels", like shipping cart wheels? Simple don't use them on vehicles they shouldn't work in the first place.

@Kurogami47 I think in the latest experimental versions, rolling over sharp items like nails and bones gives a punctured tire fault instead of doing direct damage, with wheels like steel rollers and train wheels being immune to punctures.

There might still be a lingering issue in the toughness vs damage calculation.

Currently I think it's:

damage_chance = (debris_material_hardness / wheel_material_hardness)²

which produces strange results, like a bone (hardness 8) having a 16% chance to damage a steel wheel (hardness 20), but that's much less noticeable now after the puncture fault change.

Something that I have experienced quite a bit, unsure if I just got unlucky with chance rolls or if it is literally not taken into consideration, driving over debris that could cause a puncture on soft surfaces like sand, soil, grass, water, etc. should have a DRAMATICALLY decreased chance of puncturing a wheel, as the surface would probably just yield to the objects getting compressed under the wheel and subsequently vehicle's weight.

Some sort of math that compares tile type vs. debris type vs. wheel type to figure out the weakest link and then distribute the damage / deformation accordingly.

I might be completely misled by anecdotal experiences though.

Regarding Wooden Wheels, Steel Rollers and other "rigid" wheels. Yea, they shouldn't get punctured at all but suffer other drawbacks, such as really bad impact on driving performance, grip, etc. and also cracked spokes, wheels or simply getting knocked askew or even detached from broken fasteners etc., these are probably the most realistic faults for Wheels that are not inflateable.
