An Integrated Development Environment for Benefit Eligibility Screeners

The main goal of DMN Benefit Toolbox is to explore how we might make it easier and faster to create benefit eligibility screeners.

Our experience making and operating screening tools leads us to suspect that there is a lot to be gained from giving benefits experts more autonomy and shorter feedback loops. Every time a benefit expert has to rely on a software engineer to add a new eligibility rule there is a good chance for misinterpretation of a subtle detail. Routine screening flow tweaks are treated like unique snowflakes when they have to follow the entire software development lifecycle. (To give just a couple of examples)

So how are we currently approaching this vision?
