In PVXS, `softIocPVX -m N=Test -db test/image.db` creates an `epics:nt/NTNDArray:1.0` where the `dimension` contains only `size` and the `value` is of type `any` instead of the expected `union`. This allows the `pva://...` PVs to decode it.
