What's Changed

  • The project structure has been redone to utilize #base, similar to budhud. There are now separate folders for bug-fixes and optional quality of life changes:
    • _tf2hud contains the latest default TF2 HUD files.
    • _fixes contains HUD bug fixes as they were submitted to the Steam Workshop
    • _extras contain quality of life improvements and a customization menu.
      • Users who do not wants these changes can delete this folder.
  • Added 4:3 version of the new background01 image by @Azkuzku in #341
  • Updated base files to match latest TF2 version
  • Added additional shortcut keys

    • The menu is accessible via the gear icon on the top-right corner of the main menu.
    • Customizations include:
      • Changing the damage numbers font.

      • Toggling transparent viewmodels (mastercomfig add-on required).

  • Consolidated the workshop and community branches. All HUD changes submitted to Valve can now be found on the main branch.
  • Following community contributed changes can be enabled by copying them from the .extras folder into the root HUD directory.
  • Converted all .res files to UNIX line endings by @hkva (#98)
  • Fixed MvM text cut-off for tour counts with more than 2 digits by @hkva (#104)
  • Fixed inconsistencies with item effect and counter meters by updating them to use #base.
  • Fixed the 3D player model on the scoreboard not displaying correctly after a HUD refresh.
  • Increased the size of the demoman's sticky counter in minmode.
  • Updated multiple panels to use a TF2-themed fonts and higher-quality item images.
  • Updated the Class Selection screen to allow for rotating of the 3D player model.
  • Updated the base HUD files to the latest live version.

The community pack in this release has been updated with the following changes:

  • Added an outline to the respawn timer when using the match HUD.
  • Changed the ammo icon seen on the TargetID. (#71)
  • Fixed the ammo cutoff seen for certain weapon when playing on Linux. (#50)
  • Fixed the health cutoff on the TargetID and above player's heads. (#75, #76)
  • Fixed the player list appearing slanted when spectating in Mann vs. Machine mode. (#74)
  • Increased the size of the chat font for non-Windows platforms. (Contributed by @hkva)
