Hello @matthiasweidlich , thank you for the interest about this widget and for taking the time to look into it. However, I'm not going to merge this PR into master, because it is impossible to test this feature. It works on your system, but it doesn't work on mine. Even worse, when it doesn't work there is a risk of crashing the plasma shell. I'm going to leave this PR open, so if people want this feature back they can clone your repo. Again, thank you for looking into it. 👍 |

Hi @Davide-sd, thanks for your prompt reaction! And sure, I fully understand that. If I can be of any help for trouble-shooting the issue, please let me know. It works for me with the following packages installed (grepping all packages with location and positioning):
So, I am just leaving this here, as the FAQ mentions only four libs/modules. I have not checked whether all of them are really needed, though (and the Qt5 one comes from a different dependency on my system). |
…ive overlay on the map
I love the widget, but was really missing the map. So, I pulled out the code for the map from an older version and integrated it back into the most recent version of the widget in order to understand the issue.
However, using the old code, the map including the marker turned out to work just fine for me on Debian 13 with Plasma 6.3.6 (Qt 6.8.2):
Of course, I am happy to give further details on my setup (installed packages) to trouble-shoot the map related issue on Kubuntu.
