#207 changed the public API in a backwards-incompatible way, we need to release the next version as 2.0.0.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Documentation

    • Added a Versioning section clarifying compatibility between bootspec crate 1.x/2.x and bootspec V1, providing clearer guidance for upgrades and integrations. Existing projects remain compatible; examples and usage are unaffected.
  • Chores

    • Increased the package version to 2.0.0 to align with the documented compatibility policy; metadata update only.
  • Note

    • No functional changes to features, APIs, or behavior in this release.

Poem

I twitch my whiskers—v2.0 gleams,
A tidy tag in release streams.
Notes now hum of versions’ rhyme,
While code naps, unchanged in time.
Thump-thump! I stamp a happy paw—
Docs and digits, neat and raw. 🐇✨

cc @r-vdp -- could you double check that your lanzaboote work still works with this PR? (No functional difference, just out of an abundance of caution -- I'd hate to have to release a 3.0.0 in a couple days because we missed something you'll end up needing 😆 )
