On this page, you can find out which permissions the app uses and why.

Device admin

This permission is required to turn off the screen after one of the animations got displayed.

Display over other apps

This permission is required to launch the always on display when you turn off your screen.

Force lock

This permission is required to turn off the screen after one of the animations got displayed.

Foreground service

This permission is required to run a service that detects when you turn off your screen.

Ignore Battery Optimizations

This permission is required to avoid delays caused by battery optimizations.

Internet

This permission is required to show the weather and load a list of contributors on the about page..

Notification access

This permission is required to display notification icons and the notification count on your always on display. It also enables the do not disturb functionality.

Phone

This permission is required to detect incoming phone calls and stop the always on display.

Query All Packages

This permission is required to display notification icons and filter notifications.

Read Calendar

This permission is required to show upcoming events on the AOD.

Read External Storage

This permission is required to set custom background images.

Receive boot completed

This permission is required to start the service after you have started your device.

Reorder tasks

This permission is required to assure that you do not accidentally switch apps while the always on display is running.

Request delete packages

This permission is required for the uninstall button in the help center.

Root

This permission can replace the device admin permission and turn off the screen after one of the animations got displayed.

Vibrate

This permission is required to provide haptic feedback when double-tapping.
