This is just one of the many exploits that AOSP suffers from. Since this issue is fixed by me in AOSP, we might as well address it here too. Please note: Only way to "reliably" achieve package visibility is to install it in a separate user. HMA is just a workaround.
First, most people should have updated to A9 now, because it has been more than 6 years since it released. Second, A9- doesn't have package visibility at all, even a mini version. This bring the need to hook many critical functions related to app components and is hard to maintain. So let's drop it from now on.
This feature is abandoned in AOSP. No commit was made after 2022 and the original author has left Google. What's worse, its implementation is fragile in many ways, which I cannot explain here clearly. Add a warning dialog here to inform user.
