Summary

Add support for the ICENode FPGA development board.

Board details

  • FPGA: Lattice iCE40UP5K-SG48
  • Programmer: iceprog
  • USB interface: FT2232H (VID 0403, PID 6010)

Project context

ICENode is developed as part of a bachelor project at OsloMet – Oslo Metropolitan University by the student group JFKV Automatisering.

The team consists of 3rd year Electrical Engineering students specializing in Automation and Robotics:

  • Fredrik Spydevold
  • Jarand Aspelund
  • Kristoffer Berget
  • Vebjørn Lundal

The board is intended for use in education (digital logic and FPGA courses), and is designed to be compatible with the open-source Apio toolchain.

The project is planned to be released as open-source hardware, and the board may also be made available for individual use.

Testing

Tested locally with:

  • apio build
  • apio upload
