Radeon ProRender for Blender 3.0.8
This release is an update to version 3.0 with a few changes:
- Various changes to better match Cycles scenes in general “look” of the renders (please note, artists should still expect to have to adjust settings when moving from Cycles to ProRender).
- Object Ray Visibility uses Cycles ones. That is, the Cycles object visibility is automatically used rather than separate ProRender visibility settings.
- Point, Sun and Spot light default intensities are closer to Cycles.
- Sun Light softness matches Cycles.
- The Velvet and Hair Shaders match Cycles better.
- Clamp Radiance is no longer enabled by default. For users experiencing fireflies, enable this setting in the Render Settings.
- Fixes for contour rendering.
- Improved interactivity with Viewport Renders.
- Some issues with texture compression present in version 3.0.1 are fixed.
- Issues with normal maps (related to texture compression) are also fixed.

Supports Blender versions 2.8X and 2.9X
Radeon ProRender for Blender 3.0
The new plug-in version incorporates version 2.0 of our Radeon™ ProRender system and brings about significant changes and enhancements:
- Hardware-accelerated ray tracing on AMD Radeon™ RX 6000 series GPUs.
- Better scaling across multiple devices: the use of two or more GPUs gives a better performance improvement with Radeon ProRender-2.0 than with Radeon ProRender 1.0 in most cases.
- Less noise for a given number of render samples. Using the same number of samples as with Radeon ProRender 1.0 may be slower in some scenes, but noise will be significantly lower.
- RPR 2.0 is the default render mode called “Full”. Users who wish to use RPR 1.0 can set the render quality mode to “Legacy”.
