📦 Installation

Important

  • GLF-OS does not currently support secureboot. You will need to disable it before installation, otherwise you will have difficulty booting the installation ISO.
  • BIOS (legacy) and UEFI systems are supported.

🚀 Booting from USB

  1. Restart your computer: Turn off your computer and then turn it back on.
  2. Access the startup menu: Press the key corresponding to your manufacturer to access the startup menu (see key table FR website).
  3. Select your USB drive: Choose your USB drive as the boot device.

Initial setup

  1. Startup menu: A menu will appear. Stay on the first option. If you have more than 16GB of RAM, you can load the ISO into RAM using the copytoram option.
  2. Internet connection: If you are using Wi-Fi, connect by clicking on the top right of the screen, then select “Wi-Fi” and connect to your network.

🪄 Installation wizard

Language : Select your language.
TimeZone: Select your location to set the time zone.
Keyboard : Select your keyboard layout.
User information : Fill in your user information.
Desktop environment : Select the GNOME desktop environment.
Partitioning : Click on “Erase Disk.”
Start the installation: Click “Install.”
The loading bar will remain *stuck* at 46% for a moment, which is normal. Click on the magnifying glass at the bottom right to see the installation details.

✅ Finalization

  1. Restart: At the end of the installation, restart your computer.
  2. Remove the USB drive: After a black screen appears, remove the USB drive.
