Great...

I would like to share with you some points that I find interesting in the topic "What does it mean to be a Chapter Leader?"

Successful Chapter Leaders simply:

  • Engage community members.
  • Seek to identify key people among the active members, people who genuinely care about the healthy and sustainable growth of the community.
  • Always be a servant leader, seeking to support the growth of community members within the characteristics and interests of each one.

This is amazing!!

I think it’s actually fine to use either “chapter” or “local community” for the name. However, once you include the word “local,” it starts to feel a bit ambiguous—like, is it referring to a language-based community or a geographically-based one? And even within geographic terms, for example, when we say “LATAM,” how broad or specific is that supposed to be? It starts to feel a bit complicated.

And if we consider whether it’s a “region,” that doesn’t quite fit either. So in that sense, I feel like the term “chapter” might be a good option because it carries a fairly general meaning.

Also, the terms “local” and “global” sometimes imply an upstream/downstream kind of relationship, but in reality, if it’s just something like “Local Japan” or “France,” then it just means there are activities happening there. It’s simply one of the many chapters that make up the whole.

So lately, I’ve started to think that using the term “chapter” might not be a bad idea after all!
