Installation

1. Install the extension from Mozilla Add-ons or your browser’s extension store.
2. After install or update, you’ll see an onboarding page with usage tips and privacy info.

Usage

• Select text inside a rich text editor (like Gmail’s compose window).
• Click the Quote Rich Text toolbar button, use the context menu, or press the keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+Alt+Q by default).
• The selected text will be wrapped in a styled blockquote, just like Gmail®.

Options

There are no options to configure—just install and use!
All processing is performed locally in your browser for privacy and speed.

FAQ

Q: Why doesn’t quoting work on some pages?
A: Extensions can’t access certain protected or internal pages (e.g., about:, chrome:, edge:) due to browser security restrictions.

Q: Can I change the keyboard shortcut?
A: Yes! Go to your browser’s extension manager > Manage Extension Shortcuts to set your preferred shortcut.

Q: Why does the context menu not appear?
A: The context menu is only available in editable fields (like email compose boxes or rich text editors).

Q: Does this extension work on Firefox for Android?
A: No, due to platform limitations, only desktop Firefox is supported.

Known Issues

• Does not work on internal or restricted browser pages.
• Some web editors may block or override extension actions.
• Only works in rich text (contenteditable) editors, not plain text fields.

Privacy

• Quote Rich Text does not collect, store, or share any personal data.
• No tracking, no analytics, no ads—just quoting.
