Heh, I guess you must have noticed how brutally slow the coverage step is for FreeBSD on Cirrus. 😅 There's an open PR to the Codecov CLI that removes the binary dependency that I believe is the cause of the excessive compilation. (I also have an open PR that adds a FreeBSD binary to their release assets but it's been exactly a year with no response so I'm not hopeful.)
