Releases: Kazade/dreampi
Version 2.0
Version 2.0.0 — December, 2025
This update introduces DreamPi VPN support — a new feature designed to improve online gameplay for certain Dreamcast games.
Dreampi VPN has three connection nodes around the world and automatically picks the one that gives you the best connection.
Only specific games will be behind the VPN. For example, Phantasy Star Online (PSO) will continue to work exactly as before.
If the VPN service is ever offline, Dreampi will automatically fall back to its normal connection so you can keep playing without issues.
The VPN feature is mainly used for the IWANGO game suite.
You can check which games use DreamPi VPN by visiting the server status page on Dreamcast Live.

Full Changelog: v1.9...v2.0
Version 1.9
- Minor change to add support for future TBA online games.
- Increased TTL for outgoing packets which will improve the chance of games starting in Daytona USA and possibly other games as well.
- The Daytona USA fix is now started via the DreamPi script instead of starting on boot. This can help make the retrieval of the user’s WAN IP address more reliable if using a Wi-Fi connection.
- Added DNAT update function for automatically updating server IPs for games with fixed server IP addresses such as Alien Front Online.
- Added an update feature which will allow you to simply place an update file on the SD card for easy updating in the future instead of reflashing the entire card.

Version 1.8
- Added tunneling software by SEGA RPG FAN which allows support for both Capcom’s KDDI games as well as Sega Saturn NetLink games and XBAND games. More details here.
- Added IP fix by Shuouma which will be required for playing Daytona USA online.
- Added Shuouma’s dcgmail installer to the root which removes step 1 from the setup process.
- Added “BBA Mode” software by Scrivani which allows you to use your Pi as a Wi-Fi bridge for the BBA and show up on Dreamcast Now. This is disabled by default but can be enabled by using the ./bba_mode.sh command after logging in on the Pi. More details here.
- Added a backup DNS server in case the main one goes down.
- Wi-Fi is now enabled by default which allows for headless Wi-Fi setup.

Version 1.7
- Startup Issue Fixed – A bug that occasionally prevented DreamPi from starting up correctly has been fixed. This would manifest itself as only getting one light on your USB modem after fully booting (or no lights at all depending on the type of USB modem you have).
- Wi-Fi Configuration Utility Updated – wificonfig has been updated to v1.3 which includes several improvements. See here for a list of those improvements.
