For a reusable template that summarizes required files and placeholders for project-specific values, see the OpenShift deployment template.
- Access to OpenShift cluster with Tekton Pipelines 1.17.0
- Appropriate permissions to create resources in the project namespace
- OpenShift CLI (oc) installed
The project repository is available at: https://github.com/LoneWolf345/lift-discount-code-verifier
- Create the project:
oc new-project discount-code-verifier-uat
- Apply pipeline resources:
oc apply -f openshift/pipeline/pipeline-pvc.yaml oc apply -f openshift/pipeline/pipeline.yaml
- Start pipeline:
oc create -f openshift/pipeline/pipeline-run.yaml
Apply configurations directly:
oc apply -f openshift/deployment.yaml
oc apply -f openshift/service.yaml
oc apply -f openshift/route.yaml
oc apply -f openshift/network-policy.yamlThe following environment variables must be configured in your deployment:
- name: NODE_ENV
value: production
- name: PORT
value: "8080"
- name: HOME
value: /opt/app-root/home
- name: NPM_CONFIG_CACHE
value: /opt/app-root/home/.npm
- name: NODE_OPTIONS
value: "--max-old-space-size=384"
- name: NPM_RUN

- Memory Request: 256Mi
- Memory Limit: 512Mi
The application includes:
- Liveness probe: HTTP GET / on port 8080
- Readiness probe: HTTP GET / on port 8080
Common issues and solutions:
- If the pod fails to start, verify environment variables are properly set
- Check security context constraints are properly applied
- Ensure resource limits are appropriate for your environment
- Verify pipeline permissions if using Method 1
For detailed deployment configuration, refer to the files in the openshift/ directory.
You can deploy this project to an OpenShift cluster using Tekton pipelines or a manual oc apply workflow. For prerequisites and step-by-step instructions, see the OpenShift deployment guide.
