Our team reviews revealed that the "Teaching materials" and "Workshops and meetings" teams were really one in the same. This PR therefore:

  • Incorporates the teaching materials tasks into the workshops and meetings task list
  • Removes the teaching materials team
  • Proposes adding @richardjgowers and @yuxuanzhuang to the team based on their substantial contributions
  • Adds 'identifying sponsors' as an inherent task related to organizing events

Note that processes for archiving workshop materials are up for discussion at the 02-24-24 business meeting, and may influence this PR. Additionally, as NO's work on the SDG docs project will likely touch the teaching material organization, it will likely make sense to add her as a team member as well.

As maintaining materials is an obligatory task involved with organizing workshops/meetings, the team reviews revealed that these should be rolled into the same team.
I would propose listing @richardjgowers and @yuxuanzhuang as workshop/event team contributors, based on their heavy involvement in several workshops/UGM organization/etc. last year

Per @orbeckst's (very logical) proposal elsewhere that adding names to teams should include a specific opt-in process, I am adding @richardjgowers and @yuxuanzhuang as reviewers to confirm whether they would like to be added to this team.

@jennaswa could you please be in charge of eventually merging?

For right now I am blocking until the other devs have had a look but I'll approve as soon as we know what they want to do.

Re-pinging @richardjgowers and @yuxuanzhuang. If I do not hear from you by the end of the week (Mar 28), I will remove your name and merge.

@jennaswa will merge after receiving approvals or make changes if no approvals by deadline (in ~2 days).

As I have not received an approval from @richardjgowers, I am removing his name (opt-in process to add to teams)
