Looks great, now we just need content. What's the timeline for accepted contributors to put their stuff in? ~1 week to get this out in a timely fashion (and so that they get started right away on setting up their blog)? |

I have shared a link to this PR with the accepted contributors so they can get started on their blog posts right away. @PardhavMaradani @yuyuan871111 @nilay-v3rma @jpkrowe - I would suggest a deadline shortly after initial meetings with your mentors (so you can use the initial meeting for any questions you have on setting up your blogs/submitting a PR to this skeleton post). In short, you'll want to fork this branch in my repo (i.e., not the MDAnalysis repo) and make a PR there. Let us know if you have any questions :) |

Thanks all for your contributions so far! Once we have @jpkrowe 's intro and any final reviews from @MDAnalysis/gsoc-mentors, we can get this merged. Ideally, it'd be nice to get this merged no later than Friday, May 23rd so we can report it in time to include in the May 2025 edition of NumFOCUS's newsletter (I need to report updates no later than Sunday, May 25th). |

Here is a skeleton for the GSoC 2025 introductory blog post. @MDAnalysis/gsoc-mentors should please confirm that they are happy with the formatting for the skeleton.
Contributors will be asked to fill in the details, and can look at previous project announcement posts (e.g., https://github.com/MDAnalysis/MDAnalysis.github.io/blob/master/_posts/2024-05-27-gsoc-outreachy-students.md) for inspiration. It is optional to add a picture. If anyone is uncomfortable with this, we can include an avatar or simply not have a photo at all.
