…os with Windows activation error 0xC004F074 guidance

This update introduces Solution 3 for environments using Azure Internal Load Balancer (ILB) with centralized outbound routing through Azure Firewall. It addresses scenarios where backend VMs require access to external services (e.g., KMS servers) without forced tunneling.

Key additions:

  • Clarifies use cases where Azure Firewall is preferred over NAT Gateway unless SNAT exhaustion is observed.
  • Reinforces the recommendation from Solution 2 to use Azure Virtual Network NAT for scalable outbound connectivity.
  • Provides a detailed flow summary for inbound and outbound traffic.
  • Includes step-by-step guidance for resolving Windows activation failures with error code 0xC004F074, including DNS resolution from the VM, network rule configuration, and diagnostic steps.
  • Improves clarity for architects and operations teams managing secure egress patterns and activation dependencies in ILB-based deployments.
