Fixes issue #40 by adding the missing init.py file in the benchmark/metrics folder.
Ensures that pip install . works correctly and the docext.benchmark.metrics module can be imported without errors.
Updates to ext_readme.md and contribution.md should be considered since uv pip install -e . is not required any longer.
