The Neotron Pico 3B is a Neotron board, powered by the RP2350 microcontroller, in the shape of a Raspberry Pi 3B. This means you can fit it into any Raspberry Pi 3B or 3B+ case, such as the official Raspberry Pi case.
It has:
- RP2350B MCU
- Two Arm Cortex-M33 processors, or two RISC-V Hazard3 processors
- 512K SRAM
- HSTX for DVI-D Video
- PIO for I2S Audio
- USB Host (11 Mbit/sec Full-Speed)
- 16MB QSPI Flash
- 8MB QSPI SRAM
- 4x USB Type-A ports (powered by a Microchip 4-port USB Hub)
- microSD Card slot
- RJ45 Ethernet jack (powered by a WizNet W5500 SPI 10/100 Ethernet chip)
- HDMI connector carrying DVI-D video at 640x480@60 or 640x400@70
- 3.5mm headphone jack (powered by a Nuvoton NAU88C22 I2S audio CODEC)
- Raspberry Pi RM2 Wi-Fi module
- microUSB power input
- I expect the board will take around 100mA
- But you'll need to supply 2A+ if you pull 500mA from each of the four USB ports
- 40 pin Raspberry Pi style GPIO header
You could run Neotron OS on it, or microPython, or whatever you like. It'll probably run Doom.
It's objectively a stupid idea, because it'll probably cost a lot more than a Raspberry Pi 3B+, and be several orders of magnitude slower (two 150 MHz Cortex-M33 and 8MB RAM vs four 1400 MHz Cortex-A53 and 1024MB RAM). But I thought it was funny.
