A NorESM diagnostics toolbox was developed for NorESM2, based mainly on various bash, NCL, NCO and CDO scripts. This is currently still in use for some components, while others have moved on to new frameworks based on Python. The long term goal is to provide a new set of diagnostic tools for NorESM3 within the CUPiD framework. CUPiD provides a unified interface layer on top of diagnostics packages that are developed for the specific components.
- Running the NorESM2 diagnostics package for ocean and sea ice (and land?)
- Running ADF diagnostics for atmopsheric component
- Running XESMF based CLM-FATES diagnostics for the land component
- Running NorESM Quick and Dirty Diagnostics, to get one-pager timeseries
- Running ILAMB diagnostics for land component
- Running CUPiD diagnostics
For each tag version of NorESM3, we should produce a PI control run and provide some standard diagnostics. Normally we will only run this for about 30 years, but in some cases this can be extended.
- Run diagnostics with comparison to observational datasets
- Run diagnostics with comparison to last tag version of NorESM3
- Run last 30 year segment with comparison to observational datasets
- Run last 30 year segment with comparison to prior 60-30 year segment
