California-State-Web-Template-NET-Core-MVC

This repository contains the source code for the California State Web Template in .NET Core MVC. The template is designed to help state agencies create accessible, user-friendly, and consistent websites that follow the California Web Design System.

Prerequisites

  • Visual Studio 2022 (17.14+) or newer, or the .NET CLI
  • .NET SDK 10.0 (or newer compatible SDK)
  • Optional: dotnet dev-certs https --trust for local HTTPS development

Quick start

  1. Clone or download this repository to your local machine.
  2. Open the solution file (California-State-Template-MVC.sln) in Visual Studio.
  3. Restore and build in the IDE or use commands:
    • dotnet restore
    • dotnet build California-State-Template-MVC.sln
  4. Run the web app through the IDE or use commands:
    • dotnet run --project California-State-Template-MVC/California-State-Template-MVC.csproj
  5. Explore the template and customize it as you wish.
