Here is a collector for an Oracle database. It is written in Perl using Perl DBI and Oracle DBD driver, because that is what we use here. I understand that this adds additional dependency on Perl/DBI/Oracle DBD. It is not an issue for us because we already have this installed on all our Oracle boxes. But feel free to reject this if you think additional dependency is too much.
Oracle has thousands of statistics. The v$sysstat table alone has over 600 stats. I went ahead and distilled stats to what I think is a reasonable set to provide decent insight into what is going on inside Oracle database. But it should be fairly easy to add additional stats to collect if needed.
