Install Forge

Forge up to 1.13.2 worked since commit a33dcfa which did a lot of changes around inheritsFrom behavior, meaning an unreleased build.
Forge 1.14+ worked since commit a666178 which sets -Dfml.earlyprogresswindow=false hidden argument.

Notes

Links are embedded on the light blue text.
You need a GitHub account to download dev builds, otherwise it will become error 404.

Preparing and setup

This method now applies to any Forge versions (up to latest Forge 1.16.4).

Update to the Forge working dev build: here.
Now, open the launcher, navigate to Options -> Launch mod installer.
Pick the downloaded Forge installer.
Once install done, it will show Install successful message (1.12.2 and below) or force-close/crash the launcher (1.13 and above).
If launcher crashes, check latestlog.txt, make sure INSTALL SUCCESSFUL text is available at the near end of log.
Back to version selector, swipe all the way down to the bottom, and Forge will be there.
Select Forge version and launch.

Known issues

Window size might be incorrect leads to wrong mouse position on 1.12.2 and below.
