this currently introduces several conflicts.

• rmd rendering is supposed to occur on main branch only to reduce merge conflicts when merging development ==> main;
• DESCRIPTION file is stale (it should be automatically updated when changes are bade to the module, but this doesn't appear to have been implemented);
• R/imports.R conflicts with standard package development practices i.e., usethis: put import declarations in R/<package_name>-package.R to be able to use e.g., usethis::use_import_from();
