FindIT v1.0.2 – Feature Enhancements & Smart Updates
This is a major feature release for the FindIT App. This version introduces Improved Search & Filtering, an in-file app update checker and a host of other enhancements to make the platform more secure and user-friendly.
✨ What's New in v1.0.2
- In-App Update Checker: The app will now automatically check for new versions on launch and prompt you to update if required.
- Improved Search & Filtering: Find items faster by filtering by category, keyword, or post type.
Core Features
- Post Lost or Found Items: Users can upload item details and images, categorized as either lost or found.
- Secure Claim via QR Code: Claim verification is handled through time-limited, JWT-authenticated QR codes.
- AI Image Moderation: Uploaded images are scanned using NSFWJS to prevent inappropriate content.
- VIT-Only Access: Only VIT Google accounts are permitted to log in and use the application.
- Search & Filter System: Students can filter listings by category, keyword, or post type.
- My Activity Dashboard: View, manage, or delete your reported and claimed items.
- Admin Tools: Admins can monitor, moderate, and remove unsafe posts via a protected panel.
Platform Compatibility
- Supported: Android only
- Not Supported: iOS (currently unavailable)
Prerequisites
Before installing, ensure you are logged into your VIT Google account on the device.
The app will not allow access to non-VIT users.
Go to Settings > Accounts > Google and make sure your VIT email is active.
