EMME OpenPaths 25

This significant release upgrades EMME to OpenPaths 25 in addition to switching to UV as the Python package manager. With the EMME upgrade, a Python 27 environment is no longer needed.

This release fixes bugs that were identified while testing with version 15.3.0. Minor recalibration of bike and transit trips was also performed. Final 2025 Regional Plan scenarios will be completed with this version.

This release upgrades ABM3 to the latest ActivitySim version 1.4.0. In addition, the Commercial Vehicle Model (CVM) was also updated to use ActivitySim 1.4.0. The outputs of Draft 2025 Regional Plan scenarios using this release are close to those from using v15.2.1. Final 2025 Regional Plan modeling will begin with this version.

  • ActivitySim version upgraded to v1.4.0 for ABM3 (including CVM)
  • Model outputs now written to Databricks Unity Catalog
  • New centralized settings manager that avoids duplicates in ActivitySim config files

Commercial Vehicle Model (CVM) updates in the previous version reduced overall traffic volumes on freeways. This resulted in a new effort to improve highway and transit validation of base year 2022.
