Relative Links
We frequently get pledges from relatives of Shul members on יום טוב. The billing system is designed under the assumption that it is harder for us to bill these relatives. Therefore, we enter these pledges under the member, and mark them as being made by a relative in the Notes field using a special dropdown. Hopefully, the member will remind the relative to pay the pledge.
The problem is that when we get a check from the relative, we'll enter it under the relative, and the member's pledge will remain unpaid. To solve this problem, you can link the member to the relative, and tell the system how they are related. Then, when you enter a payment from the relative, the system will look for any pledges made by the member that are marked as being made by that relation, and it will offer to move them to the relative so they can be linked to the payment.
One flaw with this system is that if a member has pledges made by different relatives with the same relation, you will need to make sure to only move the correct ones.
If you aren't sure which pledges to move when this dialog first appears, click Cancel. You can then look at the relative's existing pledges in the pledge links dropdown, and try to figure out which pledges to move. You can then go back and move the pledges by clicking the bold button on the dropdown toolbar. Moving the plwdgws will also automatically link them to the remaining unlinked portion of the payment (like the Fill Down button).
