Grammarly-CAD

Introduction

Welcome to Grammarly-CAD, your all-in-one writing assistant for cloud application development! This repository hosts a powerful application that integrates Grammarly's advanced language and grammar-checking capabilities with the tools commonly used in cloud application development, including Flask, IBM DB2, IBM Object Storage, Docker, Kubernetes, and an IBM Kubernetes cluster.

Are you tired of code comments and documentation riddled with typos and grammatical errors? Do you want your cloud application's user interfaces to be not only functional but also polished in terms of language? Grammarly-CAD is here to help you maintain code quality and create professional documentation effortlessly.

With Grammarly-CAD, you can:

  • Improve Code Comments: Ensure that your code comments are clear, concise, and free from grammatical errors, making your codebase more readable and maintainable.

  • Enhance Documentation: Elevate the quality of your project's documentation, making it easier for both developers and end-users to understand and use your application effectively.

  • Polish User Interfaces: Ensure that your cloud application's user interfaces present error-free and well-crafted content, enhancing the overall user experience.

Grammarly-CAD seamlessly integrates Grammarly's grammar-checking capabilities into your cloud application development workflow. You can now check your code comments, documentation, and user interface text for grammatical and language errors directly from within your development environment.

In addition, this project has been extended to include Docker containerization, Kubernetes orchestration, and the use of an IBM Kubernetes cluster for deployment.

This README provides detailed instructions on how to set up and run the Grammarly-CAD application and deploy it using Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring that you can harness the power of Grammarly's language-checking tools for your cloud development projects.

Let's get started with creating high-quality, error-free cloud applications!

Cloud Application Development with Flask, IBM DB2, IBM Object Storage, Docker, Kubernetes, and IBM Kubernetes Cluster

Overview

This repository contains the source code and resources for a cloud-based application developed using Flask as the web framework, IBM DB2 as the database management system, IBM Object Storage for file storage, Docker for containerization, Kubernetes for orchestration, and an IBM Kubernetes cluster for deployment. This README provides an overview of the project and instructions for setting up, running, and deploying the application.

Prerequisites

Before you can run and deploy the application, make sure you have the following prerequisites installed:

  • Python 3.x
  • Flask
  • IBM DB2 (or another compatible database)
  • IBM Cloud account with Object Storage (for file storage)
  • Docker
  • Kubernetes
  • IBM Kubernetes cluster
  • Any additional dependencies specified in the requirements.txt file.

Installation

  1. Clone this repository to your local machine:

    git clone (https://github.com/SiddharthChitrala/Grammarly-CAD.git)
    cd your-repo
  2. Create a virtual environment (recommended):

    python -m venv venv
    source venv/bin/activate
  3. Install the required dependencies:

    pip install -r requirements.txt

Configuration

Database Configuration

Update the database connection details (e.g., host, username, password) in the config.py file.

IBM Object Storage Configuration

  1. Obtain the necessary credentials (API key, endpoint, and resource instance) from your IBM Cloud Object Storage account.

  2. Update the Object Storage configuration in config.py with your credentials.

Running the Application Locally

  1. Make sure your virtual environment is activated (if you created one):

    source venv/bin/activate
  2. Run the Flask application:

    flask run
  3. Access the application in your web browser at http://localhost:5000.

Docker Containerization

  1. Build a Docker image:

    docker build -t grammarly-cad:latest .
  2. Run the Docker container:

    docker run -p 5000:5000 grammarly-cad:latest

Access the application in your web browser at http://localhost:5000.

Kubernetes Deployment

  1. Deploy the application to your IBM Kubernetes cluster using the provided Kubernetes configuration files.

  2. Access the deployed application using the cluster's URL.

Usage

Describe how to use your application here, including any specific features or endpoints.
