How To Install (v0.4.7)

Sigma88 edited this page Aug 15, 2019 · 8 revisions

Installing Galactic Neighborhood

  • Start with a clean KSP 1.3.1 install
  • Firstly make sure you install Kopernicus 1.3.1-3
  • If you have an older version of GN, delete the folder GameData/GalacticNeighborhood
  • Download GN v0.4.7
  • Extract the folder GameData/GalacticNeighborhood from the archive into your GameData folder

Installing GNAutoInstaller

  • If you have an older version of GNAutoInstaller, delete the folder GameData/GNAutoInstaller
  • Download GNAutoinstaller
  • Extract the folder GameData/GNAutoInstaller from the archive into your GameData folder

Installing Supported Planet Packs (using GNAutoInstaller)

  • Make sure you install GN and GNAutoInstaller first
  • Check which version of each planet pack is supported here
  • Download the pack you want, make sure you DO NOT change the name of the archive
  • Go to your KSP install and enter the PluginData folder (create it if it's missing)
  • Create a new folder called GalacticNeighborhood
  • Move the still compressed archive of the planet pack into this folder
  • Run KSP

Note:
The game will freeze at the start while GNAutoInstaller is copying the files from the planet pack archives into your GameData folder.
Make sure you are patient during this step.

Note2:
If the game crashes before the loading screen appears you should go to your GameData and manually clean the files installed by GNAutoInstaller.

Note3:
If you install Stock-alike Solar System using GNAutoInstaller you need to restart the game once you get to the Main Menu.

Note4:
It is still possible to install the planet packs manually, but it isn't recommended.
