    • If white continues play on the east side, Cf4 is strong because it defends the attack while working on a road threat.
    • If white tries to work on the west side with moves like b2 and c2 black always has the stronger west flank because of his solid b3 stone and can intrude on the overextended east flank with Cd2.
  • 5. b3 transposes to West Center Game: main line
