Yes, commit check errors can be ignored for now. Seems to be an issue in opensource commit-check/commit-check-action@v1 that's used in our workflow - https://github.com/TexasInstruments/processor-sdk-doc/blob/master/.github/workflows/commit-check.yml. @jeevantelukula is investigating the same.
